Every year we ask spectators to rate the entertainment in the Live Action Arena and every year we get a 90% plus satisfaction rating. So every year we try to do the same again, only different!

For 2009 the Live Action Arena hosted a double bill, combining a live tribute to the BBC’s legendary “Kickstart” TV programme with a freestyle minibike stunt show.

The Xtreme Trials team created a 'Kickstart' with a twist for the Dirt Bike Show, featuring top pro trials riders and youth stars in a race against the clock over tough man-made obstacles that wouldn’t have been thought possible in the TV show’s 1980’s heyday. Britain's Champion and runner-up trials riders James Dabill and Michael Brown joined 'veteran' Dan Clarke and World Youth Champion Jonathan Richardson in a nail-biting head-to-head race to qualify for the prize race. There were thrills, spills and laughs a-plenty as they rode over dragon's teeth, see-saws, pyramids and, er, Case earth-movers.

Then came the Bolddog Lings Minibike Team. Providing a unique, non-stop show, using Britain’s best motocross and extreme sports participants, the Bolddog Lings Minibike Team is simply a scaled down version of its bigger brother The Bolddog Lings Freestyle Team, performing the same tricks including back flips. But not any old back flips – these guys performed a two-bike simultaneous synchronised back-flip that drove the audience wild.

Running four times daily over the four days of the show, the performers were black and blue and exhausted by the Sunday evening (although that could have been Saturday's after show party) but could relax in the knowledge that they had given thousands of spectators a show to remember.
